MY STORY

Racquel is also a published scholar, who sees her research as an opportunity to bridge theory and practice to illuminate urgent, critical issues that impact her community. Her research engages identity markers such as race, gender, and class and how they intersect with leadership practices as essential knowledge for transforming schooling spaces for people of color.

Racquel has been performing for over 15 years and is a member of A'C.R.E.W. arts collective. She has curated many arts-based events and has used her poetic style to spark dialogue around social justice issues. She has released two studio albums, “Definition of a Diva” and “Love Lessons” and is currently working on a 3rd project titled, “Dear Black Girl”, inspired by her work as an educator.

Racquel has collaborated with many local and national artists and performed at many festivals and corporate events.
